Speaking is one of important language that should be mastered by EFL learners. There are some problems faces students in speaking English, such as have low vocabulary, low motivation, afraid of making mistake. English club is a place for people who interested in English and want to improve their English language by interacting to other in group and try to solve the group problem to increase their skill in English. English club have kind fun activities to increase English skill. The aim of this research is to know whether or not there is an affect using english club to improve speaking ability of SMA Istiqamah Muhammadiyah Samarinda.
In this research used Quantitative research, the sample in this research was 20 members of English club of the 50 population. The researcher utilized SPSS version 25 program by validity test, reability test, normality test, linearity test, correlation test, simple regression test, T-test and coefficient of determination formula to evaluate the data.
English club has a significant effect on the speaking ability of Istiqamah Muhammadiya Samarinda High School students. The results obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. So, it can be concluded that Ha, stated that the English club had a significant effect on the speaking comprehension of Istiqamah Muhammadiya Samarinda High School students, was accepted. The large influence of the English club variable on the speaking ability of Istiqamah Muhammdiyah High School students can be seen from the coefficient of determination test that the correlation coefficient is 0.810, which means that there is a strong relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable because R is closer to 1, the greater the value of Y. The value of R2 is 0.656, which means 65.6% of Speaking ability is influenced by the English club variable. This shows that the English club has a strong influence on the speaking ability of the English club members of Istiqamah Samarinda High School students.
