Preparing lesson plan for English teaching through online learning platform requires teachers’ ability and experience to make English as a foreign language easy to learn using online applications. Based on these problems, this research aims to find out the teachers’ problems and efforts to solve the problematics in preparing K-13(curriculum) lesson plan for online learning of English at MTs. Labbaika Samarinda.
The researcher used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design and case study method. The subjects of this research were 1 Deputy Master of Curriculum and 2 teachers of English studies for grades VII and IX. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation using data analysis techniques by Miles and Huberman, there were data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion verification.
The results of this research indicated six problems in preparing K-13 (curriculum) lesson plan for English online learning. There were the variety of students’ financial conditions, limited-time allocation, non-various learning activities, selection of learning methods and media, making of teaching material on difficult topic and assessment of learning result. The teachers decided to make eight efforts to solve these problems. There were collaboration between the Deputy Master of curriculum and English teachers, giving of learning motivation, understanding learning objectives and characteristics of students’ intellectual and financial condition, increased flexible learning methods and media, simplified the teaching materials, collaborated with students’ parents, provided the learning internet quota and internet provider network, included attitudes in assesments, giving of extra learning time and collected assignments, joined Teacher Conference or MGMP (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran) Samarinda, and the last efforts were schools holding training for the teachers about online learning and made of K-13 (Curriculum) lesson plan for online learning.
