Supervisor: (1) Rostanti Toba, M. Pd. (2) Anis Komariah, M. Pd. Reading is a process of communication with the condition that the reader must understand what is conveyed by the author in the text. If these conditions are met then communication will occur between the reader and the writer. The objective of the research to find out how significant the effectiveness of Teams-Games-Tournament (TGT) on students’ reading comprehension at SMA Plus Melati grade X in The Academic Year 2023/2024. This research used a quantitative experiment with a quasi-experimental method. The sample used two classes, they were X-1 which consisted of 24 students as the experimental class and the students of X-2 which consisted of 25 students as the control class. The instrument of collecting data used test. From the result of the instrument test, 20 question are valid and the reliable questions were taken. The result of the research is evidenced by the average score of students before and after being given treatment from experimental class of 33.33 to 85.42. Meanwhile, the results of the hypothesis test, the experimental class obtained a tcount of 10.926 and a significance value or Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 it can be stated that Hα is accepted and H0 is rejected. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of using Teams-Games-Tournament (TGT) on students’ reading comprehension of SMA Plus Melati Samarinda Grade X in The Academic Year 2023/2024 has significant results.
